(Training All Setter Breeds….Specializing in Llewellin Setters)

New Comments!

Phil Fortner was raised in Trenton, Tennessee, a small rural town in West Tennessee.  He had his first bird dog at age 12 and has been involved with them ever since.  As a semi-retired Doctor of Optometry, he is now devoting more time to his passion of developing quality setter bird dogs for the walking bird hunter.

From his years of experience, study, and affiliation with other trainers, he has developed his method of training which includes a soft voice, gentle touch and no harsh treatment. He and his wife, Jane, who assists him in the training, personally hunt Llewellin Setters in West Tennessee

Llewellin Setter - Female

We are very satisfied with the results of the training program.  We feel that our dog was trained in a manner which allows her to be a stylish hunting dog along with a family pet.  She is still the queen of the house however, when given a command to perform in the field she does this without hesitation.  We would recommend this program to any upland dog owner.
